It was cold and rainy when we reached Portsmouth. At an ungodlily early hour too, mind you. FREEZING. I was in like, 6 layers of clothing, 3 of them woolen. Or something ridiculous like that. Imagine how cold these poor soaked pigeons must've been. Aaw.

The ferry ride on the way there. Bleak weather and choppy seas = not particularly optimistic way to start a trip, but it got MUCH better later on in the day.

A little cottage called Rosemead? Could you
get any more English than that? Seriously. This is so totally a typical charming english cottage. I wouldn't be suprised if some little old lady in a bonnet and floofy skirt tottered out and offered us poor soaked dears a spot of tea and some hot scones with home made jam. Unfortunately though, no such event transpired and we went scone-less the entire trip. :P

Our room! We stayed at the Youth Hostel there, and it was cheap and clean and lovely! The staff are very helpful, the beds are warm and fluffy, the rooms are clean, the kitchens are VERY well stocked and very clean, and its overall a avery good place to stay at! *le sing praises of the place*. But seriously, they've apparently got loads of hostels worldwide, and they're said to be of equally high standards. SOmething to keep in mind when travelling. YHA.co.Uk, i think. Check it out!

The view from our room. There was actually a church across the street from us! This place was really oozing rustic rural charm out of every nook and cranny.

Shiny red fence.

Shiny red berries! Yum! These beautiful little things were growing ALL over the island! In great abundance! Pity they're inedible! My god, don't they look delicious?!?! :D

Beware of cute villagey kiddies crossing the road! Aaw!
And then on came the beloved macro lens...

Slightly slimy and gross, but swirly and cute anyway. Whee!

The insect was inside the flower! Pity the picture's not too sharp cos it was windy and not too bright, but I like this shot anyway. So pink! Yay! :)

In case I haven't already professed my undying love for my macro lens, I do so once again here.

Thorns of d00m! :D
That's the end of the isle of wight pictures for now.. there's millions more, but I can't be bothered to edit/resize them right now. Laterz, yo. I leave you with some random pictures of what I've been up to.

OMGCUPCAKE. Isn't it SO CUTE?!?! They sell 12 of these for a pound at the supermarket next to my hall, and I'm totally in LOVE with them! Its so pretty! Its got stars on it! :) Purrrrty.

More rainy day shots from my window. I like how this one turned out. :)

Jessica and I at Trafalgar Square. I have yet to run around after the pigeons in a deranged manner like I did in Europe. This will ensue, worry not.

Linda, Jessica and me on the bus home from school. Whee! Please note the woolen sweater beneath the woolen jacket. EVIL COLD.
Aaaand that's all for now! God, uploading pictures is really, really tedious. I've got assignments and stuff coming up soon, so the rest of the photos may take a while to be up. Hope you like these, do let me know what you think! :) Whee!

hey the hostel looks lovely! i stayed at YHA in NZ though. it wasn't as swanky! they had orange walls in the room (i kid you not) and the ensuite bathroom looked like a hospital toilet with a bench next to the shower and railings on the wall!
i love the pic of the pigeons and the red frames :)
mahima: aaw thanks! hehe you really should visit the place when you get a chance! it's absolutely gorgeous, and i'm sure it'd provide loads of inspiration for your gorgeous artwork as well!
rose: orange walls? orange? really? orange? :D That's SO COOL. :D The toilets sound a leetle shady though. :S And thanks! I'm glad you like that photo! :)
hey... the macro shots seem a little under exposed. tried using the built in flash? I usually set it at -1.3~-1.7FEC setting, and rear sync. It just acts as a low power fill flash.
the first shot is awesome. :)
ash: thanks for the suggestion! i'll try that out the next time i take my camera out. thanks! :)
